What is a banner exchange?
Banner exchanges are a very popular and FREE way for you to increase traffic (visitors to your website!) without the heavy marketing costs of Google AdWords, other paid search engines or traditional CPM (cost per thousand) campaigns.
Basically, you embed a tiny piece of HTML on your webpages, and this shows a banner from another site in the exchange whenever the page loads. You are credited for showing the banner, and in return other sites show your banner.
Think of it as recycling your page impressions.

How do I obtain free GreenAdTrader banner advertising for my site?
Click here to apply. We review each site, and as long as you have an ethical-related website or blog you will be accepted. After you have signed up, you can login to your account (all details are emailed to you) and automatically generate your GreenAdTrader banner html code. You then cut & paste this code on any or all pages of your site where you want banners to appear.
Why does my banner only appear 1 time on the GreenAdTrader network for every 2 GreenAdTrader banners that is shown on my site (2:1 ratio)?
Most of these extra ads are sold to pay for our ISP costs, managment and business costs. Additional ads that are not sold are used to promote the network and help out our charity partners for free. Each year, we also give 20% of all profit to one of our selected 'environmental' charities.
How do I create a banner?
Your banner needs to be in .gif, .jpg or .png format. The pixel size is 468 pixels wide by 60 pixels tall, and the file shouldn't be larger than 15kb. You can create a suitable banner using any common graphics package, or create them online for free - search Google for 'free online banner creation' tools. |
